- Price. As I stated early. I paid $3.16 for an XL Cafe' Mocha AND a doughnut. If I wanted a mocha from starbucks, I would have paid $4.00 for a Venti Mocha and NO DOUGHNUT.
- Flavor. Starbucks regular coffee tastes like awful. It tastes like old burnt forgotten coffee. I think this is done on purpose. Since Starbucks regular coffee is so foul, most patrons opt for the high priced fancy schmancy coffee drinks which are no less than $4.00 a pop. Tim Horton's regular coffee is amazing and they have cappuccinos and Cafe Mochas as well.
- A Tim Horton's coffee can be ordered without sounding like a total douche bag! When pulling up to the Tim Horton's drive thru, a great coffee can be obtained by saying the words "Large Coffee, 2 creams, 1 sugar." There is no need to say "I'd like a venti caramel machiato, skinny, no whip, caramel drizzle, extra hot. etc etc etc" And I bet after all the wordiness, that Starbucks coffee will still taste like crap.
- What the hell is a Barista anyway? Starbucks has baristas. Tim Horton's has employees. 'Nuff said.
- Hockey is way cooler than Moby Dick.
- Tim Horton's baked goods are amazing and FRESH. Most Starbucks baked goods are dry and nasty.
- Drip coffee has more caffeine than expresso. Betcha didn't know that????
- Tim Horton's Iced Capps are delicious plain and don't take 5 minutes plus to make like a Starbucks Frappuccino does.
- Starbucks hires crappy people. My friend Dave works at Tim Horton's and he's a good guy. I think this is reason enough to believe that Tim Horton's employees are better than Starbucks employees.
- A Cafe Mocha at Tim Horton's is a blend of hot chocolate and coffee. Starbucks doesn't even have this option. In fact, a Starbucks mocha is a frothy mess of milk, unsweetened chocolate and expresso. Why you gotta be so complicated, Starbucks?
- Tim Horton's serves a plethora of baked goods and soups and sandwiches. Does Starbucks?
- Even if a Starbucks did serve food (food other than their dry crappy baked goods that have probably sat in the showcase for a week or two), their coffee costs so damn much, no one could afford the food anyway.
- I've seen a Starbucks across the street from a Starbucks but never a Tim Horton's across the street from a Tim Horton's . Seriously, Starbucks. This is just bad planning.
- I think I've made my point.
So here are 14 good reasons why when looking for that quick pick-me-up and you have a Tim Horton's on your left and a Starbucks on your right, please for the love of your taste buds and your wallet, turn left! You can thank me later.
Heheheehe... Awesome
ReplyDeleteI like Iced Caps from Tim Horton's better than anything from Starbucks. I also agree about the pastries at Startbucks- they are terrible! I have recently found an affordable drink at Starbucks though: an iced coffee with milk and carmel. It is awesome, and only $2. Tim Horton's iced coffees aren't very good, and they are just a little cheaper. Other than that, Timmy's (as Jason's Canadian friend calls it) is much, much better than Starbucks.
ReplyDeleteAwesome first post, not sucky at all!!! Oh, and even though I'm a fan of both, I will agree that Tim Horton's kicks Starbucks overpriced ass any day!
ReplyDeleteYour first post was great. If I drank coffee or even had either coffee places available to me I would try Tim Horton's. I think my favorite reason was number 9... your friend working there... totally cracked me up. I found your blog through punkrockchic :) I am a follower now so great to meet people with good sense of humor...
